It’s definitely not an encouragement to drinking. It’s a matter of personal choice (after legal age). However, among beer, liqueur, and wine, make a smart choice. Think before you sip!!

Product from Majorca (Mallorca), Spain’s largest island

65% callet + 20% mantonegre-fogoneu + 15% syrah

Price:

It’s been aged in the oak (70% French + 30% American, 35% new) for 12 months before been bottled. Except Syrah, Callet and Mantonegre-fogoneu are pretty rare types of grape. However, the taste was pretty normal, leaning to a little bit acid. As seen in the picture, the label is very “Spain,” vivid, eye-catching red.

The taste goes extremely well with seafood. In addition, this smaller size makes it best mate to appetizers, like shrimp cocktail or raw oysters. Very “Seafood Style” white wine, this takes you to some raw bar along Spain coast.

Bioldo Prosecco NV

Background:

Prosecco is a type of Italian white grapes and it also defines the taste of this kind of wine-slight sparkling with some bitterness at the very end.

This one is pretty light, kinda salty, and it’s just fine to enjoy it solely without complement.

Olivier Cousin Gamay 2007

Made by Gamay, a type of grape produced in the middle region in France, Loire.

Perhaps it’s organic wine, the taste is a little bit uncommon. “A hint of funk,” that’s how it introduction says. Wondering if that’s where the idea of label was from.

Lopez de Heredia Vina Tondonia Rose 1997

Background:

From Rioja, Spain, though bottled in 1997, this rose is just in the mass market.

Composition:

60% Grenache + 30% Tempranillo + 10% Viura

Price:

$26.9

Compared to common Rose, this one has a flavor of malt and metal; gotta be honest, this rose is really not my type. Very special and distinct characteristic, for those who are tired of conventional tastes, it’s definitely worth a try.

Lopez de Heredia Vina Tondonia Gran Reserva 1985

Intro:

Lopez de Heredia is a Spanish winery with long history.

Located in Rioja region, Lopez de Heredia sticks to the traditional method, using natural yeast only.

This Gran Reserva (1985) had been in the oak for 8 years then bottled and aged in the winery.

As you could tell from the image, the bottle was sealed by wax Instead of tinfoil, a very different way from common methods.

Composition:
Tempranillo 75% + Garnacho 15% + Mazuelo 5% + Graciano 5%

Price:

$89.99

The color tends to be more orange than purely red. The taste of tannic is pretty gentle. Overall the taste is with complexity and depth. However, if you prefer stronger taste, this might be not that powerful.
